Kidnapped Nasarawa LG Chair, Others Rescued After N10m Ransom
The chairman of Akwanga Local Government Council in Nasarawa State, Safiyanu Isah Andaha, has been released after being kidnapped.
Along with him, his friend Adamu Custom and two other victims were also held by the abductors.
Their freedom was secured after a ransom of 10 million naira was paid.
According to a source close to the victims, they were released behind a filling station along Bayan Dutse road, outside of Andaha town.
“They were released around 9pm behind Maigwona filling station at Bayan Dutse road and the sum of 10 million naira was paid as ransom” he said.
The kidnappers are believed to be Fulani individuals who were operating in the bush areas.
After their release, the victims were taken to Adamu Custom’s residence in Andaha and later escorted by heavy security personnel to Federal Medical Centre Keffi for medical attention.
