AFCON 2023: Blame The Coach– Comedian Bovi Laments Following Super Eagles Defeat Against Ivory Coast 

Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, has received criticism from popular comedian Bovi for his team’s loss to Cote d’Ivoire in the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, final.

Nigeria suffered a 2-1 defeat to the hosts.

Taking to his social media handle, Bovi expressed his disapproval of Peseiro’s tactics, particularly his defensive approach instead of focusing on attacking.

He went on to mention that he would have still been unhappy with the outcome even if Nigeria had emerged victorious.

Bovi wrote: “Blame the coach. We are a footballing nation of flare. Fluidity, through passes, dribbles, attack. Not all out defence. Even if we’d won, I would still be pissed. The style was evidently alien to the players.”
