BREAKING: Senate Approves NYSC Trust Fund Bill
The Nigerian Senate has approved a proposal for the creation of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Trust Fund.
This initiative, introduced by Senator Yemi Adaramodu of the APC party representing Ekiti, aims to establish a reliable source of financing for the NYSC.
The fund will cater to various needs such as supporting skill development, training, and empowerment of corps members, as well as enhancing the training of NYSC staff and improving facilities within the organization.
In a related statement, the NYSC Director-General mentioned that NYSC corps members serve as reserve forces and could potentially be deployed for military action if the need arises.
Following the successful passage of the bill, Senator Adaramodu expressed confidence that, if the bill becomes law, the NYSC Trust Fund will be managed transparently and effectively.
