‘He’s Evil , I Tried To Hit Him’ – Marcelo Reveals On Encounter With Messi
Former Real Madrid vice-captain Marcelo recently described former Barcelona captain Lionel Messi as ‘ruthless’ on the field.
According to Marcelo, Messi’s game became even more challenging to handle when he was angry during a match, noting that he often attempted to provoke physical altercations with Messi.
In an interview with Cortes Podpah, Marcelo shared his insights on facing Messi.
He said: “Messi didn’t talk during the games and I tried not to talk to him because he was quiet.
“We always said that we should leave it like that, because if you decided to obstruct him, you would provoke him and then he would get angry, and if he was angry, he became more and more difficult to handle.
“He [Messi] is very evil. I tried to hit him a lot. I think he thinks before everyone else.”
Throughout their encounters in club and international competitions, Marcelo played against Messi a total of 33 times.
Among these matches, Marcelo experienced defeat 16 times against the Argentine player, while securing victory in 10 matches.
