JUST IN: Gov Obaseki Appoints New Deputy Governor Following Shaibu’s Impeachment
Governor Godwin of Edo State made the decision to choose Omobayo Godwin, aged 37, as his new deputy following the impeachment of Philip Shaibu.
Omobayo’s inauguration is scheduled to take place on Monday at the Edo State Government House in Benin City, where friends and well-wishers have gathered in anticipation of the swearing-in ceremony.
Born on July 19, 1986, Omobayo is from Akoko Edo Local Government Area of the state.
He holds a B.Eng Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and an MSc in Public Administration from the University of Benin (UNIBEN), which has equipped him with the skills and knowledge necessary for his new role in public administration.
Omobayo is a registered member of both the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
Prior to his appointment as deputy governor, he worked as a Senior Maintenance Engineer at Dresser Wayne West Africa Limited, gaining valuable experience in the field and contributing to the growth of the business in the South-South region.
In addition to his professional background, Omobayo has been actively involved in politics in his local community, earning the trust of the people and rallying them towards common goals.
His ability to bridge political divides and mobilize support has set him apart from his competitors.
