KOGI: Gov. Usman Ododo Inaugurates Two New Commissioners
The Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, recently appointed two new Commissioners to his cabinet during the inaugural State Executive Council meeting held at the government house in Lokoja.
Dr. Helen Aderibigbe has taken on the role of Commissioner for Innovation, Science, and Technology, while Atuluku Victor Levi assumes the position of Commissioner for Transport.
In his address to the council members, Governor Ododo emphasized the importance of dedication and urged them to work diligently for the betterment of a unified and progressive Kogi state.
He stressed the significance of fulfilling their duties responsibly and earning the trust and confidence placed in them by the citizens.
The Governor highlighted the vast natural resources available in Kogi State that have yet to be fully optimized for the benefit of the population.
He charged the government with the task of developing strategic plans and initiatives to leverage these resources for the prosperity of the state’s inhabitants.
Governor Ododo affirmed his commitment to building upon the achievements of the previous administration and pledged support to the various government ministries, departments, and agencies in executing the mandates entrusted to them by the people.
“We need to take it upon ourselves to work together as one big family for the best interest and benefits of our people so that our resources can be used for the development of our land. I sincerely appreciate you for being willing to serve your fatherland. By the special grace of God, we will give you all the necessary support to make sure you deliver on our mandate” he stated.
During the council meeting, the State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo, reiterated the Governor’s call for council members to wholeheartedly serve the State and its people.
The administration aims to harness the collective efforts of all stakeholders to drive progress and development in Kogi State.
“Specifically, he referred to himself and all other members of the executive council that he is in government to serve the people and not to be served. He also urged the people to remain very close to their people at the grassroots because governance is about the people.
“The Governor also reiterated his commitment to the security of lives and properties and urged the people of the State to always cooperate with security agencies by volunteering credible and useful information to security agencies so that they can track criminals.
“He used the occasion to sympathize and identify with the people of Omala over the incident that happened in the Local Government Area and in his words, we are in it together. The Governor vowed to ensure that, everyone that was part of masterminding that dastardly act will be brought to book and brought to justice”.
