My Family Distribute Electricity To Most Of Nigeria – Davido Claims
Davido, a renowned singer, made a bold statement on an American podcast, ‘Business Untitled,’ claiming that his family plays a significant role in providing electricity to a substantial portion of Nigeria.
He asserted that his family owns four power plants, which substantially contribute to the country’s energy needs.
He said, “I once tried to go into cryptocurrency because Nigeria is big on crypto. Apart from that, me and my family have like four power plants worth a lot of money. We distribute energy to most of Nigeria.
“My wife is into culinary. We are trying to start a restaurant for her. But my main business is what I love; my music.”
However, many experts disagree with his claim, as most of Nigeria’s major thermal and hydropower plants are actually owned and operated by the government, not private entities like his family’s business.
While Davido’s family does have investments in the energy sector, his statement may have been an exaggeration.
