Tinubu Mourns Former EFCC Chairman, Lamorde
President Bola Tinubu has offered his sympathies to the family and loved ones of Ibrahim Lamorde, the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), who passed away on Sunday in Egypt at the age of 61.
Lamorde, a dedicated public servant, had a distinguished career in the Nigeria Police Force, rising through the ranks to become a Deputy Inspector General of Police before his retirement in 2021.
In addition to his family, President Tinubu also extended his condolences to Lamorde’s colleagues and associates, the EFCC, the Nigeria Police Force, and the government and people of Adamawa State, who are mourning the loss of a respected and accomplished individual.
The statement read in part “The retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police was the pioneer Director of Operations and third substantive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission from 2012 to 2015.
“The President also commiserates with the associates of the former anti-graft czar, the EFCC, the Nigeria Police Force, as well as the government and people of Adamawa State.
“President Tinubu prays to God Almighty to grant repose to the soul of the deceased and comfort for his family.”
