BREAKING: X Officially Allows X-rated Content On Platform
Elon Musk’s X, formerly known as Twitter, has recently updated its guidelines to allow adult and graphic content on the platform.
This move comes after years of adult content already being present on Twitter, in contrast to platforms like Facebook or Instagram, which have stricter regulations.
The new guidelines explicitly state that users can share adult content as long as it is consensually produced and distributed adult nudity or sexual behavior.
X updated the guidelines over the weekend, stating that “sexual expression, visual or written, can be a legitimate form of artistic expression.”
Under the updated policy, adult content is now officially permitted as long as it is appropriately labeled and not prominently featured, such as in profile pictures or banners.
Accounts that frequently post adult content are required to mark their image and video posts as sensitive content automatically.
Furthermore, adult content is prohibited for users identified as minors or adult users who opt not to view such content.
The policy also covers AI-generated content, animations, cartoons, hentai, and anime.
X’s safety team tweeted the new guidelines would “bring more clarity to our rules and transparency into enforcement of these areas.”
Since taking over Twitter in 2022 with the aim of fostering free speech, Elon Musk has faced criticism for reducing the content moderation teams.
During his ownership, the platform has encountered technical difficulties and has reinstated accounts of right-wing conspiracy theorists and former US President Donald Trump.
Musk’s vision for X goes beyond advertising revenue; he aims to transform it into a comprehensive “super app” akin to China’s WeChat, offering messaging, voice and video calls, social media, mobile payments, and online booking services.
