UPDATED: VDM, Adeyanju, Others Arrive NASS As Bobrisky Fails To Show
The probe into the reported N15 million bribery case involving the controversial figure Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has recently begun within the House.
This inquiry is being conducted by the House Committees on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions and was initiated at approximately 2:05 p.m. with the presence of Martins Otse, also recognized as VeryDarkMan, along with his legal representative, Deji Adeyanju.
The situation arose when VeryDarkMan released a voice recording allegedly featuring Bobrisky, where it was claimed that officials from the EFCC demanded N15 million to dismiss the money laundering charge against him.
In the recording, Bobrisky also asserted that he avoided serving time in prison following his conviction, mentioning that an individual referred to as his godfather arranged for him to fulfill his sentence in a facility other than a traditional jail, thereby raising concerns regarding the Nigerian Correctional Services’ involvement.
During the time of this report, it is noted that Idris Okuneye (Bobrisky) himself was not present at the hearing, with his lawyer appearing on his behalf instead.
