BREAKING: Singer Darlington Detained Again
Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force detained Nigerian musician Darlington Okoye, also known as Speed Darlington, in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
Human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju, who represents the singer, confirmed the incident on his official X page.
According to Adeyanju, Darlington was apprehended during a performance in Owerri shortly after his recent return to the country.
He wrote, “Our client, Speed Darlington, a.k.a AKPI, has been arrested by the Nigeria Police in Owerri at his show upon return to Nigeria.”
The specific cause behind the singer’s arrest remains uncertain as of the current update.
Recall that the singer was arrested in a case related to allegations of cyberstalking against another musician, Damini Ogulu, popularly called Burna Boy.
Initially arrested in Lagos, Darlington was later transferred to Abuja and held by the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team in the Guzape area of the capital.
Accused of cyberstalking Burna Boy, the musician was eventually released on bail a few days following his initial arrest.
