10 Victims, 3 Operators Arrested as Lagos Police Bust Baby Factory
Lagos State Police have successfully dismantled an illegal baby factory, rescuing several adults and children. Among those freed from the facility were six adults identified as Precious (24), Magdalene (25), Adaobi (23), Princess (22), Ifeanyi (25), and Amaka (26). Three young children, Destiny (7), Miracle (5), and Success (2), were also rescued during the operation. Authorities have confirmed that all the victims are now receiving the necessary care and support.
According to the Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects apprehended in connection with the baby factory confessed to kidnapping the victims from various locations across the state. Hundeyin stated that the investigation is still actively ongoing, and the arrested individuals will face the full legal consequences of their actions in court.
This operation was part of a broader effort by the Lagos police over the past two weeks, which resulted in the arrest of 39 individuals involved in a range of serious crimes. These offenses included murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, rape, child stealing, vandalism, illegal operation of a baby factory, unlawful possession of firearms, and drug trafficking, highlighting the diverse criminal activities the police have been tackling.
In a separate incident, police officers successfully rescued two individuals who had been kidnapped in the Igbe Alagemo area of Ijede, Ikorodu. The victims, a 40-year-old man named Dare and a 25-year-old woman named Rodiat, were abducted on the night of March 26, 2025, after armed kidnappers attacked their community. The police, in collaboration with local teams and other security forces, worked tirelessly for three days, ultimately securing the safe release of the hostages around 11:56 p.m. on March 29.
The police spokesperson assured the public that surveillance efforts are continuing in the Ikorodu area, and a thorough investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the perpetrators responsible for the kidnapping. These recent successful operations underscore the ongoing efforts of the Lagos State Police Command to combat crime and ensure the safety and security of residents across the state.
