BREAKING: Diamond Bank Founder, Pascal Dozie Is Dead
Pascal Gabriel Dozie, renowned founder of the former Diamond Bank Plc and past chairman of MTN Nigeria, has passed away at the age of 85.
Family sources confirmed that he died peacefully in the early hours of Tuesday, April 8, 2025 — just a day shy of his 86th birthday — after battling an age-related illness.
Dozie made his mark as the visionary behind Diamond Bank, once celebrated as one of Nigeria’s most innovative financial institutions before its eventual merger with Access Bank.
He also served as chairman of the bank, later handing over the reins to his son, Uzoma Dozie.
Widely respected for his significant contributions to Nigeria’s economic development, Dozie leaves behind a legacy of leadership and innovation.
He is survived by his wife, Chinyere, and their five children.
