N10m Gift for LASU Star as University Celebrates Convocation, Notable Figures

At its 28th Convocation Ceremony on Thursday, Lagos State University (LASU) recognized its top-performing student and two distinguished personalities. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, through his deputy Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, presented a N10 million cash gift to Isioma Sybil Nwosu, the best graduating student with a 4.93 CGPA in Biochemistry for the 2023/2024 academic year.
The university also bestowed honorary doctorate degrees on Brigadier-General Mohammed Buba Marwa (retd.), NDLEA Chairman and former Lagos administrator, for his contributions, and Otunba Olufemi Pedro, former Deputy Governor, for his achievements in business and national development.
The Lagos State Government underscored the pivotal role of education in societal progress during the event, advocating for the elevation of academic achievements. The government further affirmed its dedication to supporting LASU’s growth and the success of its students.
