IGP Egbetokun Orders Heightened Security for Easter, Urges Public Vigilance

Ahead of the 2025 Easter holiday, Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has ordered increased security measures nationwide.
The directive, announced by Force PRO ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, includes strategic deployment of officers to churches, recreational centers, highways, and other public venues.
Egbetokun urged police leaders to intensify patrols, intelligence gathering, and surveillance. He extended Easter greetings to Christians and called for reflection on the season’s values.
Citizens were reminded to remain vigilant, celebrate responsibly, and avoid reckless driving. The IGP also appealed for public cooperation with security agencies to ensure a peaceful holiday.
