Death Sentence Handed Down in Osinachi Nwachukwu Domestic Violence Case

Peter Nwachukwu, widower of renowned gospel musician Osinachi Nwachukwu, will face execution by hanging after a FCT High Court found him culpable for his wife’s 2022 death.
Justice Nwosu-Iheme’s Monday ruling concluded a trial involving 17 prosecution witnesses, including two of the couple’s children.
The judgment comes three years after the singer’s demise sparked national outrage over domestic violence. Nwachukwu’s legal team, led by Reginald Nwali, had pleaded for leniency before sentencing.
