He called for unity among member states, affirming, “This is not a partisan forum. It’s a forum of progress-one that prioritizes the economic wellbeing and safety of our people.” Following his welcome to participants and the press, Governor Radda initiated a closed-door session to address key regional concerns.

Preparatory meetings by governors’ secretaries and a night session among North-West states preceded this forum. The agenda includes tackling the resurgence of Boko Haram attacks in the northeast and addressing security challenges in the North-West.

The Coalition of Northern Groups is set to submit a security document outlining roles for stakeholders, reinforcing the forum’s focus on collective security efforts. This meeting is the first of 2025 for the forum, emphasizing a united approach to regional challenges.
