In a bid to tackle the escalating crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), governors including Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), and Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa) have gathered at the Bauchi Governor’s Lodge in Abuja. Additional attendees include Enugu Governor Peter Mbah and Zamfara Governor Dauda Lawal.

The meeting also draws several former governors and senior party officials such as Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum, former Kaduna Governor Ahmed Makarfi, and ex-governors Seriake Dickson, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Samuel Ortom, Bukola Saraki, Babangida Muazu, Adamu Muazu, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Sule Lamido, and Udom Emmanuel.

Convened by Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed, the gathering aims to rally support for decisions previously made in Ibadan to resolve internal conflicts. Discussions will focus on the National Secretary’s role, the upcoming National Elective Convention, the May 27 National Executive Committee meeting, and ways to stem the tide of defections weakening the party.
