The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has begun rescheduling the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for 379,997 candidates affected by errors in the recently concluded exams.
This development was announced by JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, during a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday. He disclosed that 206,610 candidates across 65 centers in Lagos and 173,387 candidates from 92 centers in the South-East were impacted by the irregularities.
Oloyede assured candidates that notifications for the rescheduled exams would be sent via text messages, beginning Thursday. “I take full responsibility for the lapses and sincerely apologize to all affected,” he said.
A reprinted exam slip reviewed by a correspondent revealed that some candidates have already been assigned new dates, with one scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 2025, at a Lagos center in Igando, Alimosho Local Government Area.
Further updates are expected.
