On the occasion of Democracy Day 2025, President Bola Tinubu arrived at the National Assembly at exactly 11:50 a.m. to deliver a significant address to the parliament. The day, which was formally recognized as Democracy Day and a national holiday during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, celebrates Nigeria’s democratic achievements.

President Tinubu was accompanied by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, and other senior government officials. Their attendance reflects the administration’s commitment to fostering democratic values.

The address took place in the House of Representatives chambers, where Senate President Godswill Akpabio was present alongside three former Senate Presidents—Anyim Pius Anyim, Bukola Saraki, and Ahmed Lawan. Former Speaker Patricia Etteh and ex-House Deputy Speaker Emeka Ihedioha also attended, symbolizing a gathering of Nigeria’s seasoned legislative leaders.
