First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu Celebrates Father’s Day
Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Nigeria’s First Lady, marked International Father’s Day with a message urging society, particularly women, to support men in their fatherhood roles.
Speaking on Sunday in Abuja, Senator Tinubu praised Nigerian fathers for their commitment to raising children who are confident, responsible, and compassionate. “I salute all Nigerian fathers who dedicate themselves to raising confident, responsible, and compassionate children,” she said.
She also celebrated men who take on fatherhood roles through mentorship and community leadership. “I also celebrate the men who step into fatherhood roles through mentorship, guardianship, and community leadership,” she added.
The senator stressed the need to create an enabling environment for fathers to perform effectively, noting that involved fathers contribute to stronger families and a stronger nation. “Let us continue to give men the support and enabling environment to function effectively as fathers. When fathers are involved, families grow stronger, and so does the nation,” she emphasized.
She concluded with a prayer for God’s blessings on all fathers, wishing them peace, joy, and fulfillment. “God bless all fathers, strengthen you in your responsibilities, and reward your labour with peace, joy, and fulfillment,” she said.
