Euro Under-2: England Defeat Germany To Lift Back-To-Back Trophy
England have successfully retained their European Under-21 Championship title, clinching victory in this year’s tournament held in Slovakia.
The Young Lions secured a 3-2 win over Germany in the final on Saturday night.
Goals from Harvey Elliott and Omari Hutchinson gave England a 2-0 lead, but Germany responded with strikes from Nelson Weiper and Paul Nebel to level the match.
With the score tied 2-2 after 90 minutes at Tehelné Pole, Jonathan Rowe netted the decisive goal in extra time, sealing the win for Lee Carsley’s team.
This triumph marks England’s successful defense of their European title, having previously won the 2023 edition by defeating Spain in the final.
Both England and Germany reached the final after overcoming strong opponents, including the Netherlands and France, in their respective semi-final matches.
