JUST IN: NLC Issues 7-day Strike Warning Over Pension, NSITF Funds
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has given the Federal Government a seven-day ultimatum to refund workers’ funds allegedly diverted from the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) and to promptly constitute the Governing Board of the National Pension Commission (PENCOM).
The union warned that failure to meet these demands would trigger a nationwide industrial action.
This was part of the resolutions in a communiqué issued after the NLC Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, in Abuja.
Presided over by NLC President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, the meeting extensively discussed matters impacting Nigerian workers, the trade union movement, and the nation as a whole.
