Naira Marley Bullied My Son – Mohbad’s Father

Joseph Aloba, father of the late singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has once again revisited the controversies surrounding his son’s struggles in the music industry and his untimely death.

In an interview with Sunday Scoop, Aloba reiterated that his son was a victim of bullying during his lifetime—contradicting recent claims by former Marlian Music boss, Naira Marley, who denied having any hand in Mohbad’s challenges.

Recall that Naira Marley, in a recent interview, maintained that he only tried to mentor Mohbad, especially after learning that the young artiste had allegedly started experimenting with illicit drugs.

Sharing his own experience, Mohbad’s father recounted visiting Naira Marley in an attempt to resolve some of the issues his son complained about.

However, he said what he witnessed convinced him that his son had indeed suffered mistreatment.

According to Aloba, one of Marley’s close associates even confided in him, alleging that the label boss physically assaulted Mohbad.

Aloba said, “When we went to see him to apologise, he wasn’t even speaking respectfully. People assume I went there to collect money, but life is beyond just what I want to eat.”

On the matter of financial irregularities, Aloba confirmed that there were indeed cases where Mohbad carried out transactions through unfamiliar accounts.

He explained that Marley once raised concerns about Mohbad receiving money through an account not registered in his name.

Aloba admitted he also observed the same irregularities, as some funds sent to him occasionally came from unidentified sources.

I warned him that anything he wanted to give me should come from his own account,” he stated, stressing that this was the extent of his knowledge of the matter.
