Celebrity chef and Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, on Friday kicked off her bold attempt to cook the world’s largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos.
Baci, who made global headlines in 2023 for setting the record for the longest cooking marathon, is spearheading the “Gino Jollof Festival” in collaboration with the seasoning and culinary brand, Gino.
The record-breaking attempt features a giant custom-made pot, six metres wide and six metres tall, designed to hold 250 bags of rice.
Before she fired up the burners, Pastor Bolaji Idowu, lead pastor of Harvesters International Christian Centre, offered prayers and blessings for her success.
The festival also drew popular faces from social media, including Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Tomike Adeoye, Folagade Banks, and Veekee James, who turned up to lend their support.
