GWR: Chef Hilda Baci Wins Fresh Guinness Record
Nigerian celebrity chef, Hilda Baci, has achieved another remarkable milestone as Guinness World Records (GWR) officially recognised her for preparing the world’s largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.
In an announcement on its official X page, GWR confirmed the feat, which took place on September 12, 2025, during a grand culinary showcase at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
“New record: Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.” They wrote.
The event, themed the ‘Gino World Jollof Festival with Hilda Baci’, drew thousands of guests and sparked massive excitement across social media.
Baci, who first gained global recognition in 2023 after setting the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, has once again cemented her status as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated chefs.
The Lagos celebration also saw the presence of high-profile personalities including Funke Akindele, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Tomike Adeoye, Pastor Idowu, and Bamidele Abiodun, wife of the Ogun State Governor, all of whom came to support the chef’s record-breaking accomplishment.
