Renown Kennywood Actor, Malam Nata’ala Is Dead
Popular Kannywood actor Mato Na Mato, popularly known as Malam Nata’ala, has reportedly passed away after a prolonged battle with illness.
The late actor, who hailed from Potiskum in Yobe State, gained widespread recognition for his outstanding performance as an almajiri school teacher in the acclaimed Arewa24 Hausa drama series Dadin Kowa.
Before his passing, Mato Na Mato had made several public appeals on social media seeking financial assistance to manage his escalating medical expenses.
In August, he also sought forgiveness from anyone he might have offended, revealing that he spent about ₦250,000 weekly on injections for his condition.
His appeal drew attention from Niger Republic’s President, General Abdourahamane Tchiani, who generously donated ₦27 million towards his treatment.
Following the sad news of his death, fans and colleagues in the Kannywood industry have flooded social media with tributes, describing him as a gifted actor who brought life, emotion, and authenticity to every role he played.
As of the time of filing this report, his family is yet to issue an official statement regarding his demise, while fans continue to mourn his painful loss.
