Buhari’s Close Ally Is Dead.
OnyxNews Nigeria reports that a President Muhammadu Buhari’s close ally, who is a former minister of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Mahmud Tukur, has died in early hours of Friday.
Dr. Tukur was the first Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano and also a former director of Cadbury Nigeria.
As a close associate of President Muhammadu Buhari, Dr Tukur served as a minister when Buhari was military head of state.
Tukur’s enviable position and competence displayed as the Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University increased his public profile in Northern Nigeria.
He became friends with contemporaries such as Mamman Daura, Adamu Ciroma, Hamza Rafindadi Zayyad to form a small clique of policy advocates in Northern Nigeria.
Tukur died from an undisclosed ailment after he was rushed to a hospital in Abuja from his base in Kaduna, last night.

“His remains is being conveyed to Yola for the funeral,” a source told Daily Trust.
