Unknown Gunman Kill Uniben Student (Video, Viewers Discretion Is Advised)

Unknown gunman shot and killed a final-year University of Benin (UNIBEN) student in his room inside the school hall of residence.

The late student popularly known as “Mayor” was said to be a student of the Department of Public Administration and was shot at about 9pm on Monday night causing panic among students.

Meanwhile, the incident has generated several reactions as Twitter users claiming to be students at the institution expressing their concerns that a student would be killed in the school hostel, which used to be the safest place for any student.

One of them said, “School hostels used to be one of the safest places for students in Uniben, at least I never heard of something like this ever happening there.

A user, identified as Goaldyn Man said: “Inside Hall 3 hostel, this is very sad. Things like this were usual occurrence in Ekosodin and BDPA then not hostels inside the school premises.”

“You are right! I spent 6yrs in Uniben but no one was killed inside hostel! Only off campus.

“During our time any cultist that summon courage come hostel to kill cannot escape the crowd of hall 3!”

“How did someone enter Hall 3 unseen, shoot and kill someone and escape? Thought they finally moved past these senseless killings. I can understand Ekosodin being unsafe, but these days the ‘unaliving’ happens inside hostel. Why should we be hearing the sound of shotgun inside Hall 3??”
