Nigerian Ex Attorney General And Minister Of Justice, Bola Ajibola Is Dead
Former Judge of the International Court of Justice, Hague, Netherlands, and proprietor of Crescent University, Prince Abdul-Jabar Bola Ajibola is dead. It was learnt that the deceased died in the midnight of Sunday at age 89.
Ajibola was an Attorney General and the Minister of Justice of Nigeria from 1985 to 1991 and a Judge of the International Court of Justice from 1991 to 1994. He is President and Founder of Islamic Mission for Africa (IMA) and also the Proprietor of Crescent University, an Islamic, non-sectarian and co-educational institution.
Prince Abdul-Jabar Bola Ajibola The leader of the Academy of Islamic Propagation (ACADIP), Mallam Yusuf Adepoju confirmed the demise of Ajibola’s death in a statement on Sunday. He said, “Inna lilahi wa hina illahi rajihunna. The Chairman, Board of Trustees for Academy of Islamic Propagation, ACADIP, Prince Abdul-Jabar Bola Ajibola is dead. May Allah forgive him of all his shortcomings and grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus. Aamiyn.”
Bola Ajibola was a Nigerian lawyer and judge who served as the country’s Attorney General and Minister of Justice from 1985 to 1991. He was born in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria, on October 22, 1934, and died on September 27, 2014.
Bola Ajibola Biography. Ajibola earned a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1962 and a Master of Laws degree in 1964 from the University of London.
He was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 1963 and went on to have a prosperous legal career.
In addition to serving as Nigeria’s Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Ajibola was a judge at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda from 1999 to 2002. From 1991 to 1994, he was also a member of the International Court of Justice.
Ajibola was well-known for his legal knowledge and expertise, and his contributions to Nigerian and international law were widely acknowledged. He received the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) in 1982, the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) in 2003, and the Nigerian Bar Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006.
