Former President Jonathan’s Elder Sister Is Dead
Madam Obebhatein Jonathan, the elder sister of former President Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, following a short illness. She was seventy years old.
A statement released by Jonathan’s media office described the deceased, affectionately known as Amissi, as a retired teacher, businesswoman, and a devoted mother and grandmother.
She dedicated her life to serving God and humanity, earning her a reputation as a devoted Christian, virtuous woman, and role model within and beyond her community.
The statement also mentioned that the burial has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 16, 2024.
The family will announce further details regarding the funeral proceedings.
Madam Obebhatein Jonathan leaves behind three children, siblings, including Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, and her mother, Mama Eunice Afeni-Jonathan.
