UCL: Supercomputer Predicts Teams To Reach Semi-final Phase, Win Trophy
A supercomputer has forecasted the teams most likely to reach the UEFA Champions League semi-finals this season, as well as the team expected to lift the trophy.
The first legs of the Champions League quarter-finals are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Semi-final Predictions:
According to Opta’s supercomputer, Arsenal are slightly favoured to defeat Real Madrid and advance to the semi-finals, with a 50.2% chance.
Paris Saint-Germain are also tipped to progress to the last four, ahead of Aston Villa, boasting a 71.3% probability of victory.
PSG are given a 36.2% chance of overcoming either Real Madrid or Arsenal to reach the final.
The winner between Arsenal and Real Madrid will meet either PSG or Aston Villa in the semi-finals.
Elsewhere, Inter Milan are marginally favoured to reach the semi-finals, holding a 51.5% chance compared to Bayern Munich’s 48.5%.
Final Predictions:
Arsenal have a 29.5% chance of making it to the Champions League final in Munich, narrowly ahead of Real Madrid’s 25.2% probability.
In terms of winning the competition, the Gunners are third favourites with a 15.6% chance.
Barcelona are rated as the most likely champions with a 23.1% chance, followed by PSG at 19.3%.
