According to the NTA, the eclipse will begin around 8 PM Nigerian time and last for about 83 minutes.

The event will be visible across much of Africa, with countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Benin, Togo, Niger, and Chad among those expected to experience it.

In some western regions, however, the early stages may not be visible as the Moon will rise closer to or during totality.

Experts confirm that the phenomenon is safe to view with the naked eye. A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth aligns between the Sun and the Moon, casting its shadow on the lunar surface.
