President Tinubu Departs Aso Rock For Olubadan Installation
President Bola Tinubu on Friday departed Abuja for Ibadan, Oyo State, to attend the coronation of the new Olubadan, Senator Rashidi Ladoja.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the presidential jet departed from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
In Ibadan, Tinubu will join top dignitaries for the installation ceremony holding at the historic Mapo Hall, underscoring the national significance of the event as Ibadan marks the continuation of its cherished traditional institution.
Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State and senator, was chosen as the 44th Olubadan following the passing of Oba Owolabi Olakulehin on July 7.
The 81-year-old, a respected businessman and politician, rose through the hierarchical Olubadan chieftaincy system to ascend the throne. His coronation has already stirred excitement across Ibadan.
The Olubadan of Ibadanland is the paramount traditional ruler of Ibadan, Oyo’s capital and one of West Africa’s largest cities.
The throne carries immense cultural, historical, and political weight among the Yoruba people.
