Katsina begins house search for Lagos, Abuja returnees

The Katsina state government on Tuesday started house based search for residents that recently returned from Lagos, Abuja and other states that have recorded much cases of COVID-19.
The Chairman of Katsina COVID-19 Sub Committee and Commissioner for Information, Haddi Mohammed Tsirika, stated this on Tuesday.
He said this was neccessary because many of the returnees followed bushpaths and skipped medical screening at the inter- state borders.
In a related development, Onyxnews Nigeria reported on Thursday 10 April, that the Lagos State Government has began house-to-house search for possible coronavirus cases within the State.
The Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, made the announcement during a joint ministerial press briefing on COVID-19 intervention in the state.
Prof. Abayomi said that the COVID-19 case identification campaign would run for two weeks in the first instance across the state.
He also said that the health workers carrying out the exercise would be known with the COVID-19 outbreak response tags and letter from the Local Government.
Abayomi said, “In the coming days, some of our health workers will be moving around in pairs to administer an electronic questionnaire at homes and healthcare facilities to make enquiries about symptoms of cough, cold and fever.
“This is in a bid to intensify our search for possible cases of COVID-19 in different communities across the state. I implore you to give them your maximum support by providing accurate information that would help in containing this pandemic quickly.
