Just In: EFCC invades Shehu Sani’s apartment

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)’s operatives have on Wednesday allegedly invaded Senator Shehu Sani’s residence in Wuse, Abuja, over alleged extortion.
Onyxnewsng reports that the EFCC stormed the former Kaduna senator’s apartment at 3:30pm today to look for incriminating evidence against him.
Recalled that the EFCC had arrested Senator Sani for alleged extortion of $20,000 from Sani Dauda, the owner of ASD Motors, promising to pass it on to the acting chairman of the anti-graft agency, Ibrahim Magu.
In 2015, Sani was elected senator, under the All Progressives Congress platform. When he could not get the party’s ticket in 2019, he ran on the ticket of the Peoples Redemption Party but lost to Uba Sani of the APC.
Since then, he has been a vigorous critic of the APC government, both in Kaduna and Abuja.
Some of the offences the EFCC may arraign the senator of, are extortion, name dropping, and financial crimes.
