JUST IN: Obaseki officially joins PDP (Video)

Governor Obaseki has officially joined PDP ahead of Edo 2020.
Onyxnews Nigeria reports that Governor Godwin Obaseki officially joined the Nigeria’s opposition Party, Peoples Democratic Party after his resignation recently from the nation’s ruling party All Progressives Congress (APC).
This reliable online news platform understands that the Edo Governor was received by the leadership of the party led by the state Chairman of the PDP, Hon Tony Aziegbemi ahead of Edo 2020 election scheduled for September 2020.
Governor Obaseki arrived Edo PDP Secretariat along 1st East Circular Road with his followers and appointees, a development which was confirmed by the PDP in a tweet on the micro-blogging site, Twitter.
The PDP tweeted: “The governor of Edo State, H. E. Governor Godwin Obaseki has defected to our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party.
“The declaration was made this afternoon at the state Secretariat of our party in Benin city, Edo State. Power to the people.”

Obaseki’s joining the PDP is happening few days after he was disqualified by the Screening Committee of the APC from demanding re-election on the platform of the ruling party.
Meanwhile, Edo APC Primary is slated for June 22 while Edo PDP Primary is slated for June 23.
