Gunmen have kidnapped family of Atiku’s security detail.
OnyxNews Nigeria reports that gunmen have kidnapped the wife and son of a security detail of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
The suspected gunmen were believed to have gone for the said Atiku’s security detail whose name is not given but confirmed to be a police officer, but took his wife and son when they did not meet him.
A report filed by The Nation newspaper, a source stated that the Kidnap happened on the night of Monday in Yolde-Pate, Yola when the target was believed to still be around after reportedly having come to town with Atiku for the weekend.

The source was quoted to have said that: “The kidnappers believed that the police personnel, being so close to Atiku, would have money, so they went for him but took his wife and son when they did not find him.”
The Public Relations Officer of the Adamawa State Police Command, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the incident, and noted that the aide to Atiku is a police officer, but his name was not mentioned.
DSP Nguroje promised to do everything to make sure the abducted people are freed and the gunmen will be arrested.
