Imo State Governor Empowers Unemployed Youths With Rabbits, See Reactions

Nigerians on social media have attacked the governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, for giving off rabbits as empowerment scheme for the youths in the state.
OnyxNews Nigeria gathered that the governor, Uzodinma Hope on Friday, November 27th 2020 commissioned Rabbits as Youth Empowerment Scheme in Owerri.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony on Friday, Uzodinma stated that he is determined to involve youths in productive ventures like agriculture that will guarantee their meaningful employment.
He said the program was going to guarantee food security, empower youths and reduce restiveness amongst other benefits.
This development, however did not sit well with Nigerians on social media who outrightly condemned the shallow-minded scheme.

Let's say the farming takes off and we produce 1 MILLION bunnies. What do we do with them? Export? OK. What's the export demand for rabbits? Sell domestically? OK. What's the demand for rabbit pets? Eat them? OK. How many Nigerians do you know that put rabbit meat in ogbono soup?

One'd think that the circumstances that led to this man becoming the governor will be enough to sway him towards being people-oriented, unfortunately reality is otherwise. Not only will he lose come 2023, he'd also be reminded of the federal imposition that made him possible…
