BREAKING: FG Unveils NIMC Mobile App To All Applicants For Easy Access
FG Has Unveiled NIMC Mobile App To All Applicants For Easy Access.
In order to curb the rate of crimes in the country, Federal government through the administration of President Buhari has directed all Nigerians to apply for National Identification Number in order to link their Sim cards.
It hasn’t been easy for Nigerians as serious queue were seen in various NIMC centre, and it made it difficult for many applicants to enrol conveniently.
OnyxNews Nigeria recalls Federal government gives new instructions to all NIN applicants on how to enrol by adopting booking system, and also advised all applicant to adhere strictly to COVID-19 guidelines during the registration.
However, in another recent development on December 31, 2020, Federal government of Nigeria led by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari through Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy unveiled NIMC Mobile App and improved National Identification Number (NIN) for an easy access for all applicants to individually link their Sims cards instead of visiting NIMC centres.
According to Femi Adeluyi, the aid to the minister of communication and digital economy, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami made it known through a press meeting.

The statements read:
“The App provides a secure channel for all Nigerians and legal residents to easily verify and validate their identities on-the-go using smartphones. It also allowed them to connect the NIN to their phone numbers.”
“The App offers a built-in harmonisation process that allows for its use across other government services including the Nigerian Communication Commission, Federal Inland Revenue Service, Federal Road Safety Commission, and National Health Insurance Scheme, to mention a few.”
Therefore, the newly improved NIN is easily accessible by individuals. Applicants who have been given his/her NIN can now log in, download a PDF of the document in colour form, and then have the option of printing it out and also laminate it.
This is part of the effort to find easy way of applying for National Identification Numbers (NIN) and linking SIM cards which was passed to the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) and the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to operate.
The Mobile App is now ready to be downloaded and installed as it is now on Play store and App Store for all applicants to respectively download it.
Also, procedures on how to go about it is available on the websites and NIMC and the ministry social media platforms.
Again, applicants can also download the improved National Identification Number (NIN) on the following link:
