JUST IN: MTN Resumes Sales Of New SIM Cards
MTN has resumed the sales of new Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) Cards.
OnyxNews Nigeria recalls last year, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) asked all telecommunications to stop the sales and activation of SIM Cards across the country.
This was revealed in a statement made by the Director, Public Affairs, Ikechukwu Adinde on the 8th of December, 2020, the commission has ordered all telecommunications to halt the sale and activation of Subscriber Identification Module (SIM).
MTN Nigeria has announced its resumption in the sale of new SIM Cards in 24 states of the country as efforts are on top gear to resume sales from the rest of the states not currently listed.
A fast check on MTN website reads: “We are delighted to inform you that SIM card sales have commenced in some select MTN stores. Simply walk into any of the stores listed below to buy and activate your SIM.”

“To make your experience at our store seamless and make the process faster, please be kind to come with the following:

1. Your National Identity Number (NIN) is mandatory by law for registering and activating your new SIM.
2. In addition, please come along with any one of these valid, government issued IDs:
i. Your NIN slip
ii. Your Voter’s Card
iii. Your Driver’s License
iv. Your international passport.
SIM registration cannot be done by proxy.”

Another research carried out by OnyxNews Nigeria stated that other telecommunications will soon start the sale of SIM cards.
