Kano Governor, Ganduje Hands Over Power To 14-Year-Old

Kano state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has handed over power to a 14-year-old girl, Atika Abubakar Yankaba.
He handed over governance to Atika as part of activities marking 2021 International Day of the Girl Child (IDGC).
The ceremony was held in Kano with the theme, “Girls Take over Governance”.
The teenager was mandated to served as acting Governor for 1 hour and make some policies.
The International Day of the girls is celebrated annually on October 11 to raise the voices of young girls around the world and increase awareness of issues faced by them.
