Peter Obi Speaks On Withdrawing Petition Challenging Tinubu’s Victory
Presidiental candidate of the Labour Party (LP) and former Anambra state governor, Peter Obi has expressed his determination to use all legal means available to reclaim what he believes to be his stolen mandate.
A recent meeting with Labour Party stakeholders in Awka, Obi confirmed that he will explore every available legal option to ensure that he emerges victorious in his bid to contest the outcome of the presidential election.
Obi came third in the presidential election held on February 25th.
The winner of the poll was Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), with Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) coming in second.
Despite the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declaring Tinubu as the winner, Obi has consistently maintained that he won the election and headed to court to contest the outcome.
In a tweet posted after the meeting, Obi stated that the discussion was constructive and centered on the future of the party.
He thanked the stakeholders for their support and reassured them of his readiness to do whatever it takes to ensure that the LP’s mandate is restored.
This statement from Obi comes at a time when there are rumors circulating that he may withdraw his petition against Tinubu’s victory.
Despite the rumors, Obi’s comments show that he is still very much focused on fighting for what he believes is rightfully his.
His determination to explore all legal options available is a clear indication that he is not prepared to back down without a fight.
