Niger Coup: Watch Video Of Nigerian Military Teaching Youth Corp Members How To Fire Machine Guns (Watch)
A video showing the moment some operatives of the Nigerian military were teaching members of the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) how to fire a machine gun has caused a stir on social media.
The video surfaced a few weeks after the NYSC Director, Press and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa reassured the public that the establishment had no plan to deploy youth corps members to Niger to fight a war to restore democracy in that country.
This was after it was being rumored on social media that members would be deployed to Niger.
Recall, there was a coup in Niger on 26 July where Nigerien soldiers toppled the government of democratically elected President Mohamed Bazoum from power.
Consequently, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is making efforts to restore democratic government to the country.
However, the recent video of corp members learning how to fire machine guns has sparked reactions amongst Nigerians on social media.
