BREAKING: Appeal Court Affirms Bala Mohammed As Bauchi Governor
Onyxnewsng reports that the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, has declared Bala Mohammed as the governor of Bauchi State.
Following the declaration of Mohammed who was the former minister of Federal Capital Territory as the winner of the gubernatorial election in Bauchi State by the Independent National Electoral Commission, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Sadique Abubakar, approached the governorship election petition tribunal sitting in the State challenging the win.
Chairman of the three-man panel, P T. Kwahar, in his judgment, affirmed the victory of Bala Mohammed.
But not satisfied with the tribunal’s judgment, Abubakar, a former Chief of Staff, filed an appeal at the Court of Appeal challenging the decision of the lower court.
But in a judgment on Friday, the Appellate Court dismissed the appeal filed by APC’s candidate and declared Bala Mohammed as the winner.
