Wike: Tinubu’s Attempt Failed, Godfather, Son Must End Crisis – Shehu Sani
According to former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, President Bola Tinubu’s attempt to resolve the conflict between Governor Sim Fubara and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has been unsuccessful.
This has resulted in the responsibility of resolving the battle being left to the political godfather and his protégé.
Sharing on his X social media page, Sani wrote: “Presidential intervention failed to bring peace to Rivers; everything is now left to God, Godfather and Godson.”
The conflict between Wike and Fubara centers around the political structure of Rivers State, with the former governor accusing Fubara of abandoning the system that brought him into power.
As a result of this ongoing dispute, 27 members of the State House of Assembly, who are loyal to Wike, have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). In response, the Rivers State government has demolished certain sections of the Assembly complex.
Despite the tensions, Fubara has presented the 2024 Appropriation Bill to the state House of Assembly, albeit in the absence of the 27 lawmakers who have been declared vacant by the Speaker.
