I Feel Honored Taking Another Step In My Career —Tiwa Savage 

Afro-pop star Tiwa Savage has expressed her enthusiasm as she embarks on a new chapter in her career as a film actress.

She recently announced the release date for her highly anticipated debut movie, “Water and Garri,” marking a significant milestone for her.

The movie, in which she serves as both the lead actress and Executive Producer, has been in the works for two years and is set to debut later this year. Renowned director Meji Alabi helmed the project.

The singer-songwriter had previously hinted at the filming of the movie, in which she portrays a fashion designer with a promising career in the United States who returns to her African homeland to confront unresolved feelings.

In an Instagram post, the mother of one disclosed that the movie will be available for streaming on Prime Video and will be accessible in over 240 countries and territories across the globe.

“Guys, I’m so excited to announce that my first feature film “Water And Garri” will be released this year through @primevideo and shown in over 240 countries and territories worldwide!

“This has been over two years in the making and I must say this is probably one of the most adventurous, fulfilling things I’ve done. “I feel blessed and honoured to not only be making my debut as a lead actor but to have also been the executive producer of this film,” the African Bad Gyal wrote on IG during the week.

Notably, the movie shares its title with Tiwa Savage’s second EP, which comprises five tracks and was released in 2021, adding an intriguing dimension to her multifaceted artistic endeavors.
