ONDO POLL: Aiyedatiwa Sweeps Ondo APC’s Governorship Primary [Full Result …]
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has emerged as the frontrunner in the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election, securing victory in 16 out of the 18 council areas in the state.
The only council area where he faced defeat was in Ilaje, where Chief Olusola Oke emerged as the winner.
The results show a clear mandate from the electorate in most council areas for Governor Aiyedatiwa and Chief Olusola Oke.
It is notable that none of the other 14 aspirants were able to secure victory in any council area, emphasizing the strong support for the two leading candidates.
Despite the overall outcome, the primary election was not without challenges.
Reports from the returning officer for Ifedore, Oliver Okpala, indicate that violence marred the electoral process in all wards within the Ifedore council area.
This highlights the need for ensuring peaceful and transparent electoral practices in the future to uphold the democratic process.
Overall, the results of the Ondo governorship primary election reflect the preferences of the electorate across the council areas, showing a significant level of support for Governor Aiyedatiwa and Chief Olusola Oke in their respective regions.
