BREAKING: Gunmen Assassinate Governor Aiyedatiwa’s Campaign Coordinator
Tragedy struck in Supare, Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo state, as Alaba Abbey, the campaign coordinator for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, was brutally murdered by unknown gunmen at his residence on Saturday evening.
According to his elder brother, Samuel Abbey, the assailants attacked around 9 pm, shortly after Alaba returned home and was relaxing outside.
The Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers Independent Council (LACO-FSIC)-SF has strongly condemned the senseless killing of their member and urged security agencies to provide protection for their members across the state.
Kayode Fasua, the organization’s information director, revealed that the deceased was an active campaigner for Governor Aiyedatiwa’s election until his untimely death.
He said: “Excel had been a resourceful coordinator for the Aiyedatiwa campaign organisation in Ward 10 of Supare and was never known to be violent and never had any history of a local or domestic dispute.
“We urge the police authorities to step up investigations into his gruesome murder and bring the perpetrators of the dastardly act to book.”
Notably, Alaba Abbey served as the Returning Officer for the recent APC governorship primary election in Ondo state and was also the ward coordinator for LACO-SF in Ward 10.
