BREAKING: FG Approves Salary Increase For Military, Police, Others [FUL LIST]
The government, under the leadership of Bola Tinubu, has officially sanctioned a salary increment ranging from 25% to 35% for civil servants falling under the six remaining Consolidated Salary Structures.
These structures include the Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure (CONPSS), Consolidated Research and Allied Institutions Salary Structure (CONRAISS), Consolidated Police Salary Structure (CONPOSS), Consolidated Para-military Salary Structure (CONPASS), Consolidated Intelligence Community Salary Structure (CONICCS), and Consolidated Armed Forces Salary Structure (CONAFSS).
It is noteworthy that beneficiaries within the Tertiary Education and Health Sectors had previously received their salary enhancements.
This encompassed the Consolidated University Academic Salary Structure (CONUASS), Consolidated Tertiary Institutions Salary Structure (CONTISS) for Universities, Consolidated Polytechnics and Colleges of Education Academic Staff Salary Structure (CONPCASS), and Consolidated Tertiary Educational Institutions Salary Structure (CONTEDISS) for Polytechnics and Colleges of Education.
In addition, the Health Sector experienced improvements through the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) and the Consolidated Health Sector Salary Structure (CONHESS).
A press release from Emmanuel Njoku, the Head of Press at the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC), announced that the pay adjustments will be effective from January 1, 2024.
Furthermore, the federal government has endorsed pension increments ranging from 20% to 28% for pensioners under the Defined Benefits Scheme corresponding to the aforementioned six consolidated salary structures, with effect from January 1, 2024.
This move reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of civil servants and pensioners across various sectors.
